Seminar Instructors:
Bob Poiesz, Systems Consultant, Highmark, Inc.

Bob has over 15 years of Health Care experience, with experience in both the Provider and Payer side of the industry.  He is currently a Systems Consultant with Highmark Inc., where he has been the voting representative to ASC X12 for nine years.   Within ASC X12, Bob is in his third term as co-chair of the Health Care Claim Payment work group and has been involved with the Claim Payment transaction
(835) since 1990. Within WEDI, Bob was co-chair of the Claim Payment Implementation Guide (IG) development sub-TAG during the development of two WEDI 835 IGs.

Bob is also in his third term as vice-chair of the Joint Claim Adjustment/Claim Status Reason Code Maintenance Committee, sponsored by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. Bob has provided consultation and training on the business of the 835 to various Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans as well as to the Health Care Financing Administration.
